Xcel Surfcraft was established by Shayne McIntosh in early 2008 with a goal of providing the highest quality Fibreglass Paddle Boards, Fibreglass Nipper Boards and Foam Nipper Boards on the market. His experience is extensive with over 15 years of knowledge and experience in the Surfcraft manufacturing industry.
Xcel Surfcraft sought the experience and knowledge in board shapes and designs from Caine Eckstein and Daniel Carruthers. Both athletes have had successful careers in the sport of Surf Lifesaving with Caine Eckstein winning the 2004 World Board Title and Daniel Carruthers winning the 2008 World Board Title. Together with the help of shaper Ra Futcher, a state of the art, cutting edge design was produced, whilst utilising the highest quality materials available.
Xcel Surfcraft aims at producing the best looking Racing Mals, Nipper Boards and Foamies on the market. We have introduced the utilisation of metallic car-paints on our boards to ensure our boards stand out from the competition. Our spray artist is a highly renowned artist in the industry and will ensure our boards will be the best looking boards on the beach.
Our newly designed Digital Artwork is an optional feature that can be implemented on the Racing Mals and Nipper Boards. Digital Artwork is a photo quality design which is placed on material under the fibreglass. A customer can choose any image from our large selection or simply provide their own to ensure Xcel Surfcraft boards stand out from the rest.
Xcel Surfcraft aims at ensuring the quality of the boards produced are second to none. With a cutting edge manufacturing process, we aim at ensuring every board with the Xcel Surfcraft logo is of the highest standards.
Although our business has only been around for a short time, our boards have already proven they are a winning design and lead the world in performance. In July 2008, Daniel Carruthers rode an Xcel Surfcraft Racing Mal to victory in Germany at the 2008 World Titles.
Caine Eckstein who is arguably the best endurance athlete in the sport after winning the 2005, 2008 and 2009 Coolangatta Gold’s is also an ambassador for Xcel Surfcraft. Caine used an Xcel Surfcraft Racing Mal in the 2008 and 2009 Coolangatta Gold and produced the fastest board leg out of any competitor (including team event paddlers).
Xcel Surfcraft provides realistic time frames on the production process of the boards, and has a unique system in place to ensure the customer is aware of where the board is in the production line.
Xcel Surfcraft has employed the help of Daniel Carruthers who has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Sports Management, as Manager. Daniel is extremely experienced in board paddling, having won Queensland, Australian and World titles on the board.
